Almost Ready to Start a Countdown

We are feeling like it's really happening now! We've met and/or spoken with lots of RPCVs (get ready for the acronyms to start!), current PCVs, and other Invitees (soon to be Trainees). We have good shoes, sold all of our furniture, and we're ready to roll out of DC on May 18th heading west... still in search of good long underwear! We still have no idea really what to expect, and it'll probably be that way for awhile! As far as we know-- we're getting on a plane in Denver on June 2, 2007 heading for some US city for staging, and then on to Mongolia a couple days after-- probably via Seoul. We're absolutely thrilled at the adventurous prospects coming our way, and have done so much reading up that we're just ready to experience the real deal.

It's Official!

After a long process of planning, applying and umpteen doctors and dentists, we've been officially invited to join the Peace Corps as Volunteers in TEFL-University Setting: Teaching English as a Foreign Language (Peter), and Business/NGO-Community Economic Development (Cady) in Mongolia, departing June 2, 2007.While we have NO idea what that means yet, we're excited to start our long-awaited adventure, and we hope you'll check back frequently to hear how we're doing--wherever and whatever we're doing!
